Devstack Stein setup with OpenDaylight

Steps to setup a devstack (stein) single node setup with OpenDaylight controller as Neutron networking plugin -

  1. Download Ubuntu 16.04 server ISO.
  2. In virtualbox go to File > Host Network Manager. The Create a new host only network (#2). Enable DHCP.
  3. Create a vm in virtualbox. Provide 4 CPU, 10 GB RAM. Enable 3 network adapters NAT, Hostonly, Hostonly #2
  4. Start VM and mount the Ubuntu ISO. Install Ubuntu server.
  5. Update software after installation, apt-get update and apt-get upgrade
  6. Edit /etc/network/interfaces file and add 2nd and 3rd nic details (auto, dhcp)
  7. Add stack user - sudo useradd -s /bin/bash -d /opt/stack -m stack
  8. Give sudo permission to stack user - echo "stack ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL" | sudo tee /etc/sudoers.d/stack
  9. Restart VM
  10. Become stack user - sudo su - stack
  11. Download stein release devstack - git clone https://git.openstack.org/openstack-dev/devstack -b stable/stein
  12. cd devstack Create local.conf file with following content -
